I'm lazy. Yep, I confess it. I'm lazy. I've got one of those swell WhiBal cards nestled in my wallet. My wallet, of course, nestles in my back pocket when I'm out wandering. Do I ever take my wallet out of my pocket in order to actually use that wonderful WhiBal? Nooooo..... Of course, maybe I'm just absent-minded. Yeah. That's it. I'm absent-minded.

Seems to me that the consensus is to always shoot in raw mode, which I do and only adjust color balance later, in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw). Haven't set color balance while shooting in several years.

Am I missing something?

I only shoot RAW, too. The WhiBal, when one actually takes the trouble to use it, just makes colour adjustment during processing easier. It's neutral gray, and has black and white patches on it. Take its picture under the same light as your subject, click on it with the colour balance tool during processing, use the settings it gives for those photos. This is especially handy for those of us with a slightly defective X chromosome (or 2, if the photographer is female and unlucky).
